That’s what I love about this Smartie Pants costume. It’s easy to make, and you can put it together mostly from supplies you probably have around the house. Reach into your candy bucket and grab some Smarties for this easy homemade Halloween Costume.
Here’s What You’ll Need
Supplies
- Pants – We used leggings, but jeans, or dress pants would also work well
- Smarties – You’ll need several rolls to make this costume look right
- Safety Pins – I have seen other people tape the Smarties to the pants, but I do not think that holds up well. Especially since it is at the end of October. Bad weather could be a factor.
- Suspenders
- Bow Tie – optional idea, but would be so cute
- Glasses – optional but they really do pulled the costume together
How to Make a Smartie Pants Halloween Costume
I would recommend safety pinning the Smarties onto the front of the pants before putting the pants on.
Pin Smarties all over the front of the pants, staggering them.
Attach suspenders and a bow tie for an even cuter costume
Finally, put some fun, smart-looking glasses on, and if a girl is wearing this costume, consider high ponytails or a bun for a smart hair style.
Tips and Tricks
I mentioned this earlier, but I do not think clear tape or double-sided tape works well for this costume idea. The tape will struggle to stay attached to the pants and your costume could be ruined.
