You can use Chocolate Melts – chocolate that is meant for melting and is usually found in the cake-baking aisle, or you can use chocolate chips
Should you put chocolate-covered strawberries in the freezer?
No. The freezer will damage the strawberries’ firm texture.
How Do I Store My Chocolate-Covered Strawberries?
You can place them in an airtight container with a blanket of wax paper directly over them and store them in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Ideally, they will be eaten within the first 2 days as chocolate in the refrigerator becomes chalky and the strawberries themselves will expire soon after.
Adding stripes to your strawberries makes them look elegant.
You don’t have to stop there.
You can also add mini chocolate chips, crushed walnuts, or even sprinkles to liven up your strawberries.
You can have even more fun by turning the chocolate strawberries into fun creations, like…
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ladybugs
Or, make this Chocolate Covered Whipped Cream to go with your strawberries. That would be amazing!

How to Make {Beautiful & Easy} Chocolate Covered Strawberries | Kid Friendly Things To Do
Equipment
- Microwave proof glass bowls
- Silicone mixing spatula
- wax paper
- Candy squeeze tubes – one per color for decorating
- Pot of hot water for warming chocolate not boiling, just very hot
- paper towel
Ingredients
- 1 12 oz. Chocolate Melts brown
- 12 large Strawberries
Instructions
- Pour the white and brown chocolate into 2 different bowls
- Melt according to package directions
- *I like to microwave the chocolate melts for about 1 minute, stir and then microwave for 30 more seconds
- Rinse strawberries and then use a paper towel to dry them completely
- Set out wax paper
- Holding the stem…Dip the strawberries into the melted chocolate, and turn them around to coat them
- Hold them over the chocolate for a few seconds to allow the excess chocolate to drip off
- Place them onto wax paper to dry
- Repeat until all of your strawberries are covered in white or brown chocolate – I like to keep it even, half brown and half white
- Reserve some chocolate for decorating
- Reheat the white chocolate for about 30 seconds and stir until smooth
- Pour the smooth chocolate into a squeeze tube
- Decorate the strawberries covered in brown chocolate by going back and forth in even lines over the strawberries with your white chocolate
- *I like to start on the wax paper, just beside the strawberry, and loop the chocolate back and forth without ever lifting the squeeze bottle up until finished
- Now, heat the brown chocolate and decorate the white strawberries with lines
- Let them dry
