Mom’s Recipe for the Best Broccoli Salad Ever! {You can Make Ahead} | Kid Friendly Things To Do

Broccoli Salad Recipe with bacon, grapes and raisins

The ultimate Broccoli Salad with raisins, bacon, and grapes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 Tbsp. of bacon grease from your cooked bacon
  • 3/4 cup of raisins
  • 1 cup of small seedless red grapes – left whole or sliced
  • 23 heads of broccoli – rinsed, and cut into florets
  • 1 and 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. of cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup of red onion – chopped

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sugar, chopped onion, vinegar, and 1/2 Tbsp. of bacon grease 
  • Fold in the broccoli, bacon crumbles, grapes and raisins
  • Serve immediately, or cover and store in the refrigerator up to a few days ahead of the BBQ.
  • It will still be fresh and delicious. Trust me, I’ve been eating it for the last 4 days, and it only gets better. 🙂

This dish is best if made at least one day in advance.
