Chocolate Dipped Oreo Footballs

Chocolate-dipped Oreo footballs are an easy, no-bake game-day treat made from round Oreo cookies, dipped in melted chocolate and decorated with simple white chocolate laces. They look adorable on a Super Bowl dessert board, and the kids absolutely love helping decorate them.
Unlike my football-shaped Oreo cookies, these football Oreo treats use classic round Oreos, which makes this method even faster — no special molds needed. Just dip, drizzle, and chill!

Around football season, I love making quick Super Bowl Treats like these for game watching and tailgate parties. Check out my football-shaped Oreo cookies, football chocolate-covered strawberries, and my football dessert cheeseball for even more game-day snack ideas.
Why You’ll Love These Chocolate-Dipped Oreo Footballs
- No Bake — melt, dip, decorate, done
- Kid-Friendly — kids can help add the laces
- Perfect for Parties — Super Bowl, tailgates, football birthdays
- Minimal Ingredients — Oreos + chocolate = magic
Ingredients

- Oreo cookies (Original or Double Stuffed)

Supplies
- Parchment or wax paper
- Fork or dipping tool
- Microwave-safe bowl
- Piping bag or squeeze bottle
How to Make Chocolate-Dipped Oreo Footballs
Melt the brown chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. I usually heat it for 1 minute and stir. If necessary, I add another 30 seconds, stirring until smooth.
Dip each Oreo into the melted chocolate, coating both sides.

Lift with a fork and gently tap to remove excess.

Set dipped cookies onto wax paper and let them set.
Melt the white chocolate and transfer it into a piping bag or squeeze bottle.
Pipe one long horizontal line across the center of each Oreo, then add short perpendicular lines to resemble football laces.

Let cookies set completely at room temp until firm.

Expert Tips
- Prevent Cracks: Use room temperature Oreos — cold cookies can crack in warm chocolate.
- Chocolate Consistency: If your chocolate is too thick, add a small amount of shortening to smooth it out; however, this will make it take longer to dry and set up.
- Cleaner Laces: If white chocolate is too thick to drizzle, add a tiny drop of vegetable oil or shortening to thin.
Variations
- Golden Oreos for a fun twist
- Mini Oreos for bite-sized footballs
- Mint Oreos for St. Patrick’s Day + football crossover
- Use colored sprinkles around the edges before they set
