Halloween Footprint Art: A Little BOO From Me to You
This post may contain affiliate links – please read my disclosure statement.
I wanted to make a cute Halloween handprint craft for moms, caregivers, teachers, and families who love saving those little handprints and footprints. Something simple to print, make, and give to someone special!
This printable already has the B, so little hands or feet get to finish the word BOO. I left space for either option, along with name and year lines—because those are the details you’ll want when you pull it out again later.
I think this would be such a sweet gift for grandparents or for students to bring home to their caregivers. A little paint, a little BOO, and a keepsake to tuck away!

Why You’ll Love This Halloween Handprint Art
- Simple to make. Print the page and add handprints or footprints.
- Your choice of prints. Use the same page for either hands or feet.
- Ready to personalize. Includes spaces for the child’s name and year.

How to Make This Halloween Footprint Craft
Step 1: Print the page. Download the printable and print it on white cardstock in landscape orientation.
Step 2: Check the placement. Before adding paint, check that the child’s hands or feet fit in the space beside the B.
Step 3: Add the prints. Brush paint onto the child’s hand or foot and gently press it onto the cardstock. Lift straight up, then repeat beside the first print to finish BOO.
Step 4: Personalize. Let the paint dry, then fill in the name and year. Your keepsake is ready to give!

Melissa’s Tips for Halloween Footprint Crafts
- Check the fit first. This layout is best suited to small hands or feet, especially toddler-sized prints.
- Use cardstock. That’s what I printed mine on for this keepsake.
- Try an older-child variation. If two handprints won’t fit, use one handprint and draw an O to complete BOO.
- Remember the year. It’s such a small detail, but it helps you remember just how little they were!

Halloween Handprint Craft FAQs
Can I use handprints instead of footprints?
Yes! The same printable works for either handprints or footprints. Place the prints beside the B to finish the word BOO.
What paper should I use for Halloween footprint art?
I printed mine on white cardstock. The download is a single page designed to print in landscape orientation.
Can older children make this Halloween handprint craft?
Check their hand size against the blank space before painting. For larger hands, try using a single handprint and drawing an O beside it to finish BOO.
