I made this Roll a Monster printable as an easy Halloween activity for kids, but I didn’t expect my older kids to get so competitive over it!

We each rolled a die and drew the matching part on our monsters. If we rolled a part we already had, we rolled again. My son was the first to finish all six parts, and we had such a fun time seeing what everyone’s monster looked like.

All you need is the one-page printable, a die, and crayons or markers. After playing it with my kids, I can see this being just as much fun at a classroom table or Halloween party.

What You Need for the Roll a Monster Dice Game

One printed Roll a Monster sheet per child
A standard six-sided die
Crayons, colored pencils, or markers

How to Play the Roll a Monster Drawing Game

Step 1: Give each child a printable and something to draw and color with.

Step 2: Roll the die and find the matching number on the page.

Step 3: Draw that part on the monster. The little picture is an example; kids can draw their own version.

Step 4: If you roll a number for a part you’ve already drawn, roll again. Keep playing until your monster has all six parts.

Step 5: Give your monster a name and make him colorful!

Children can play on their own or draw together as a group. If they want to race, the first child to draw all six parts wins. They can take their time naming and coloring afterward.
