What You’ll Love About
Perfect for Kids: Easy enough for little hands to help with, and fun enough to keep them engaged.
Festive and Adorable: The colorful cereal “feathers” and googly eyes make it instantly charming for Thanksgiving.
Great for Parties: Ideal for classroom celebrations, kids’ tables, church events, and holiday gatherings.
Customizable: Swap ingredients, add tags, or personalize the colors to match your theme.
Supplies You’ll Need

Food-safe gloves (clear, disposable)
Froot Loops or any colorful cereal
Popped popcorn (cooled) – My popcorn is salted. I would not recommend buttered popcorn for this craft.
Orange pipe cleaner (cut in half)
Red pipe cleaner (cut in half)
Orange construction paper (for the beak)
Googly eyes
Glue (tacky glue)
How to Make this Thanksgiving Turkey Snack
Fill the feathers: Add Froot Loops into each of the glove’s fingers, filling them about halfway to form colorful turkey feathers.
Add the body: Scoop popped popcorn into the main part of the glove until it’s full and fluffy.

Secure it: Twist the glove closed and secure it with half of an orange pipe cleaner.

Make the wattle: Wrap half of a red pipe cleaner around a pencil to form a curly wattle.

Create the beak: Cut a small triangle from orange paper and glue the wattle to the beak.
Attach the face: Glue the completed beak/wattle piece to the thumb of the glove. Then add googly eyes right above it.

Let dry and enjoy: Allow the glue to dry fully before packing or serving.

Expert Tips
Pack the popcorn loosely: Overfilling the glove can stretch the plastic and make it harder to shape the turkey. A light, fluffy fill looks best.
Use clear, food-safe gloves: Powder-free polyethylene gloves hold their shape well and won’t add any unwanted residue.
Variations
Color Sorting Activity: Make this a fun learning activity by having the kids sort different colors into each finger for a lesson on colors or patterns.
Healthy Version: Swap Froot Loops for dried fruit or veggie straws in the fingers.
Candy Feathers: Use Skittles or jelly beans for a sweet version.
Pumpkin Spice Popcorn: Use flavored popcorn for a seasonal twist.
Name Tag Version: Add a small cardstock tag to the closing pipe cleaner to use as a place card at kids’ tables.
Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free cereal and popcorn to accommodate dietary needs.
FAQs
Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes! You can prepare them 1–2 days in advance. Just store them in an airtight container to keep the popcorn fresh.
Do the gloves need to be a special type?
Use food-safe, powder-free gloves—never latex with powder. Clear polyethylene gloves work best.
What glue should I use?
Tacky glue that grabs quickly.
Can kids help make these?
Absolutely! They love filling their fingers with cereal and attaching the googly eyes (with supervision).
