Unwrap the Mummy Game: Toilet Paper Mummy Prize Ball
This post may contain affiliate links – please read my disclosure statement.
This Halloween mummy game gives kids a surprise to unwrap! Players sit in a circle and take turns unwrapping a toilet paper mummy ball, revealing a prize before passing it along.
When we made ours, we learned that pencils poked through the paper, so we left them out. Spacing the prizes apart gives each child time to enjoy unwrapping before finding their surprise.
Supplies for the Mummy Ball Game
- 3 or more rolls of super strong toilet paper.
- Lots of small Halloween prizes and candy – **Pencils are tough – they poke through the mummy. We tried, but ditched the pencils.
- 2 large Google eyes – around 40 mm
- Tacky craft glue
How to Make the Mummy Prize Ball

- Start by using a roll of toilet paper as your base
- Start wrapping the toilet paper roll with another roll pulling it snug as you wrap

- Once you have it going around the toilet paper roll, and feel like it’s holding well, you can start adding the prizes
- Start placing prizes some distance apart – it’s more fun if you give a good amount of space between prizes so each kid has fun unwrapping the paper before revealing their prize, and passing it to the next child

- Roll over the prizes
- Keep going until you have a large amount of prizes and the roll is looking large enough to resemble a head
- Now turn the roll on it’s side, and start wrapping the opposite way to get a ball shape – it’s up to you, if you want to do prizes this way, too

- Â
- Finish off by wrapping the ball in a criss-cross pattern and leaving a little toilet paper hanging out for a messy mummy.
- Add google eyes with the glue.
- You’re done!

- Enjoy! Oh! Did I forget to mention the amount of toilet paper you’ll be picking up after the party is done?!Â
How to Play the Halloween Mummy Game
Have the kids sit in a circle. Give the first player the mummy ball and let them unwrap until they uncover a prize. They keep the prize, then pass the ball to the next player. Continue until the mummy is completely unwrapped.

instead of toilet paper, use crepe paper wrapping around a small box or bowl? Using the same concept with the candy/toys. Easier clean-up as I don’t approve of TPing people’s houses. Waste of toilet paper……….
That’s funny. We were recently teepeed. My first reaction was to laugh. My second was…Awesome! Free toilet paper!
Halloween games for young teens?
Hi Nancy! This game is fun for any age. Of course, if it’s young teens – I’d make sure the roll is mostly filled with candy and money (2 of their favorite things!) The gross games are usually a big hit with the teens, like Finding Eyeballs in Wet Spaghetti Noodles. Two that I just published is a Skeleton Bone Relay Race and Ghost Marshmallows on a String. Those are awesome for teens. Try using the search bar. Type in Halloween Games. Several should pop up for you to look at. I hope you find a good one. Happy Halloween!
