When we celebrate New Year’s Eve, I like to include the kids in the festivities. There are always fun games to play, and of course lots of New Year’s Eve recipes like Queso Verde, Pizza Crescent Ring, and Raspberry Sherbet Punch.

This clock is a fun idea for the kids on New Year’s Eve. English Muffin Pizzas are always a hit with the kids, and they can participate in making this fun recipe. It can be part of the New Year’s Eve festivities. Let the kids design their pizza and cut out numbers to go on top. The bonus is that you’ll have kitchen helpers, so it’s less work for you.

Ingredients for New Year’s Eve Pizza

English Muffin Pizza Ingredients
  • English Muffins – One package of six should do the trick, but you might want extras if one tears apart.
  • Olive Oil – You’ll use this to achieve a crust on top before adding sauce. Hopefully, this will help prevent the pizzas from getting soggy.
  • Pizza Sauce – Use a store-bought sauce or make a homemade pizza sauce like this no-cook pizza sauce or another delicious pizza sauce recipe.

How to Make a Countdown Clock English Muffin Pizza

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit

Cut the English Muffins in half and place them onto the parchment line baking sheet.

Brush them with olive oil

Bake for about 5-7 minutes or until the tops form a crispy crust

Take English Muffins out of the oven

Spoon pizza sauce onto each muffin

Top with desired toppings

Cover with cheese

Place back into the oven for 8 minutes

Meanwhile, cut numbers out of pepperoni or your desired topping – options include vegetables and slices of cheese like Mozzarella and provolone or a contrasting color like Yellow Cheddar.

Remove pizzas and place numbers onto each pizza, numbering them 1-12

Bake for another 2 minutes

Vegetable Pizzas: If you add vegetables like mushrooms, onions, and pepper, saute’ them in the skillet to tender them. Sprinkle with a bit of salt and garlic powder for extra flavor.

Olive Oil: You can pour olive oil into a small bowl and brush it over the muffins or wave a dispenser over the muffins to lightly coat them.
