What goes well with stuffed Jalapenos?

  • Cheese – melted cheese
  • Salsa
  • Cornbread

Can you freeze the Stuffed Jalapenos?

  • You can freeze stuffed jalapenos. Place them in a freezer bag.  The pepper will lose some of its firmness when you thaw them, but the taste will be the same. Baking in the oven is preferred to reheat as the microwave will make them limp. Set the oven to 350 degrees, and reheat until warmed through. You can cover the bacon with foil to avoid burning it.

How do you make Stuffed Jalapenos?

  1. Mix cream cheese, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce together
  2. Slice off the stem end of the jalapeno
  3. Cut a slit on the side of the jalapenos
  4. stuff with cream cheese mixture
  5. wrap with 1/2 of a bacon strip
  6. Grill over aluminum foil, on indirect heat, until bacon is cooked through

Cost: $10

  • aluminum foil
  • 5-6 toothpicks that have been soaked in water

  • 5-6 large jalapeno peppers
  • 6-8 oz. softened cream cheese – I used 1/3 less fat
  • 3 tsp. minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 5-6 bacon strips

  • Just grab a bowl – throw in the cream cheese, minced garlic and add the Worcestershire sauce
  • Mix everything together
  • Hallow the peppers out, getting rid of the seeds and veins (these two areas contain the most heat from the hot pepper)
  • Stuff the peppers – sometimes it helps to cut a slit down the side of the pepper so you know you are stuffing it full of cheese
  • Wrap with bacon, secure with a toothpicks

Grilling Method

  • Place some foil on the grill, and cook the wrapped peppers for about 15-20 minutes over indirect,  med-high heat, or until the bacon is cooked through and crispy

Oven Method

  • Set your oven to 400 degrees
  • Line a baking sheet with non-stick foil (or spray foil with cooking spray)
  • Place bacon wrapped poppers onto the baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until bacon is brown and crispy

  • Slice into bite-size pieces, and insert toothpicks to make the pieces easy to grab

Using Pre-Cooked Bacon:

  • If you use pre-cooked bacon, you will want to lower the temperature to 350 degrees and cut your baking time in half. Check on the poppers often to be sure the bacon does not over-cook

Can you cook the poppers in the oven. Will the bacon get crispy?

    1. Melissa

Oh, yes! I cook bacon in the oven all of the time. Place bacon-wrapped poppers on a baking sheet. Set your oven to 400 degrees, and bake for about 20 minutes or until bacon is crispy and brown. Thank you for asking. I’m going to add this method to the recipe instructions, as most people won’t be grilling in January. 🙂
