How do you make Chewy, Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies?

  1. Mix sugars, butter, extract and eggs
  2. In another bowl, mix the baking soda, salt, cream of tartar, and flour
  3. Add the dry mixture to the wet
  4. Fold in chocolate chips
  5. Scoop spoonfulls of dough onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
  6. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes

The best chewy chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp. of vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2&1/3 cup of flour
  • baking sheet lined with parchment paper

Instructions

  • Preaheat oven to 350 degrees
  • cream the first five ingredients together (brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter, vanilla and eggs)
  • in a separate bowl, sift the last 4 ingredients together 
  • mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients
  • add 1 large bag of chocolate chips – milk chocolate or semi-sweet
  • Bake for 12 minutes
