Skillet Berry Slump Recipe
I think anything baked in a cast-iron skillet screams summer. This skillet blueberry slump is the perfect cobbler recipe for those delicious summer berries.

You’ll Need:
- 4 cups of fresh or frozen blueberries or any other berry
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 tsp. of grated lemon peel
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 cup of milk
- Vanilla ice cream
Skillet Berry Slump Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh blueberries or frozen blueberries or any other berry
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1 tsp. grated lemon peel
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- ½ cup milk 2% or whole
- 1 scoop Vanilla ice cream optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
- In a 10 in. ovenproof skillet, combine berries, sugar, water, lemon peel, and lemon juice
- bring to a boil
- Reduce the heat, and simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture is thickened
- While that’s cooking, take a small bowl, and whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
- Cut in the butter with a fork, or whisk, until the mixture has coarse crumbs
- Add the milk, and stir until moist
- Drop the batter by spoonful’s onto the skillet of berries
- Transfer the dish to the oven
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden
Notes
- Take the skillet out of the oven, and after it has only cooled slightly…add scoops of vanilla ice cream and dig in
