- paprika – paprika balances out the pepper with a hit of sweet flavor
- lemon-pepper seasoning – lemon adds some zest to this dish
- chicken breasts skinless – skinless chicken breasts will remove a tough layer of fat and make the dish a little bit healthier
- cream of mushroom soup – cream of anything soup always adds a delicious rich flavor to homemade meals and casseroles
- sour cream – sour cream will add a layer of creaminess and fat content that makes an amazing flavor
- chicken broth – chicken broth adds sodium, flavor, and thins out the cream so it will pour evenly over your pasta or rice

Yes. You can cook raw chicken in a slow cooker provided you cook it with the lid on and long enough for the chicken to cook through. The steam and heat from the slow cooker should easily cook your chicken from raw to fully cooked. Always check to make sure juices run clear and the meat is white
Yes, you can. If chicken cooks too long, it will turn tough and rubbery. To avoid tough chicken cook it low and slow and make sure that there is enough sauce and juice covering it while it cooks
Storing and Reheating
Store your slow cooker sour cream chicken in a closed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days
Reheating: Microwave or warm up in a saucepan over the stove

Serving Size
This recipe will serve 6 people
You can certainly add fewer chicken breasts to feed fewer people
If you would like to add more chicken breasts and sauce to feed a larger crowd, make sure your slow cooker is wide enough to cook them side by side. If you stack the chicken, it will take much longer to cook

Here’s the recipe for Sour Cream Sauce Chicken in a Slow Cooker…
Slow Cooker Chicken In Sour Cream Sauce
Ingredients
- 1&1/2 tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. black pepper ground
- ¼ tsp. paprika
- ¼ tsp. lemon-pepper seasoning
- 6 chicken breasts skinless
- 1 10.5 oz. cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 6 oz. mushroom pieces and stems can – drained
- 1 16 oz. linguine noodles
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the spices
- Rub the spices all over the chicken breasts, and place them into the slow cooker
- In a medium size bowl, add the soup, sour cream, broth, and mushroom pieces
- Mix together, and pour over the chicken breasts
- Set the slow cooker on high, and cook for 4-6 hours
- Stir the sauce with the broth that has cooked out from the chicken
- Cook the noodles according to package directions – drain
- Serve chicken over linguine
Notes
- Yes, sour cream does tend to curdle and separate itself out from the other ingredients when it reaches high temps. If that happens, it won’t look as beautiful, but it will not impact the flavor
- Add 2 Tbsp. of flour to the sour cream mixture before cooking
- You can also add the sour cream at the end. Pour the sour cream into a bowl, add a little of the hot broth mixture from the slow cooker to your sour cream and wisk in. Repeat until the sour cream has warmed up. Add the warm sour cream to the slow cooker mixture and wisk.
- You can also cook this on low for 8 hours
