Ingredients
Filling:
- 1 can of Apple Pie Filling
- 1 tsp. of nutmeg
Topping:
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of oats – I used Quick Cook
- 1 stick of unsalted butter (8 Tbsp.)
- heavy-duty foil – 2 (18 inch long pieces)
Instructions
DIY Foil Pie Pan
- layer the 2 foil pieces
- pull the sides up so there is about a 2-inch wall
- form a circle in the middle that is about 9 inches wide
Filling
- Pour the can of apple pie filling into the center
- Pour the nutmeg over the filling
- Fold the spice into pie filling
- Spread the pie filling over the center of the foil pan
Topping
- In a medium bowl or in a large zip-tight bag, add the flour, sugar and oats and mix well
- Shake the topping over the filling
- Slice the butter into 1/2 Tbsp. slices and scatter them around the topping – covering the topping
- Place on grill heated to medium heat – over indirect heat
- Close the lid on the grill
- Cook for about 20-25 minutes or until the topping is golden and filling is bubbling
- Remove from heat
- Use a large spoon to scoop out individual portions
- Optional – add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream to the center of the entire dessert or onto individual servings

- Grill grate – place pie foil pan over indirect heat and cook as directed above
