So, I was sitting with a mom at school telling her how I wished that I could buy a Graduation Cap for all of the 5th graders. They are so expensive to buy, especially when you have 60 kids graduating. I told her that I thought I would end up spending the better half of a day making my own. This is where she stepped in and saved me! She told me about a DIY cap she saw at preschool graduation…a plate on top of a bowl! A plate and a bowl, people! A plate and a bowl! Come on in and I’ll show you this simple Graduation Cap Craft idea that I L-O-V-E!!!!
For this Graduation Cap craft, you’ll need:
- A square paper plate
- A bowl – plastic or paper
- The yarn piece was cut to about 12 inches long
- A paper fastener
Now:
- Push the paper fastener through the middle of the bowl
- Push it through the middle of the plate
- Now, insert it through the top of the plate and also into the top of the bowl (where you made your hole)
- Holding both together, flip the plate over and fold open the tabs to secure them to the bottom of the bowl
- Add the yarn piece to the top of the paper fastener that is resting on top of the plate – tie to secure
- Done!
