- It makes a lot – a whole lot. It’s perfect for a crowd
- The flavors blend really well together
- Even after the fingers start to dislocate from the palm of the hand, it still looks fun and creepy
- After the hand has completely melted, the punch turns a nice deep red
- Leftovers keep well and will last several days
FAQs
Make-Ahead and Storage:
Can I Make this Halloween Punch in Advance?
Yes. You will want to freeze the hand and freeze most of the liquids before your party. You can do this one day in advance or several days in advance
Leftovers: Keep your soda bottle for leftovers. Use a kitchen funnel to pour any leftovers back into your soda bottle and store it in the fridge
Can I Make more than One Frozen Hand for this Punch?
Yes! It would look very cool with a few hands floating. However, be careful with adding too much liquid into this recipe. This punch will go full to the rim of your punch bowl and any more liquid like some from a melted hand could possibly make it too full.
How Many Servings will this Party Punch serve?
This punch serves 45 or more guests
Can I Substitute any juices in this punch?
Yes, some good juice substitutions would be…
- frozen limeade concentrate instead of lemonade concentrate
- orange juice instead pineapple juice
- use strawberry in place of cherry Jell-O
- substitute a clear drink for the green Hawaiin punch. Clear hands would be just as spooky
Tips and Tricks
- layer 2 clear gloves for added support – this will help in case the seam of one glove splits
- another layer of support would be placing the filled gloves into a baggie to prevent any spillage
- set the punch out at least an hour before your party, so the frozen drink can start to melt and turn into a liquid slush
Are you ready to make this fun Halloween Punch? Let’s make sure you have everything you’ll need:
Ingredients
- cherry gelatin mix – I used cherry Jell-O packets
- sugar – granulated sugar
- boiling water – it doesn’t have to be boiling, but it does have to be hot enough to dissolve the gelatin
- frozen lemonade concentrate
- pineapple juice
- cold water – this will help dilute some of the strong flavors
- lemon-lime soda – this is left out of the frozen mixture and helps to dissolve some of the frozen drink. It also blends well with the other flavors and adds some carbonation to the drink
- green Hawaiian punch – We used green berry punch flavored Hawaiian punch
How do you make a Floating Hand Punch?
- double layer disposable food-safe gloves and fill them with a liquid drink
- use a twist tie or a rubber band to secure the ends
- place the liquid-filled gloves into a baggie and onto a small plate
- insert the plate into the freezer overnight or several days in advance
- in a medium-sized saucepan, heat 4 cups of water
- dissolve gelatin into the water
- in a large pot pour gelatin mixture, lemonade concentrate, pineapple juice, and cold water
- an hour before the party, place the frozen drink into a punch bowl
- pour Sprite over the frozen mixture
- let the mixture melt to a slush – breaking it up when you can
