DIY St. Patrick’s Day Garland with Playing Cards

A fun St. Patrick’s Day Garland made out of Shamrock cut-outs and Clubs from a deck of playing cards—an easy and fun party banner that the kids can help make.

St. Patrick’s Day Garland
When St. Patrick’s Day rolls around, we are ready to color the house with some St. Patrick’s Day crafts like this Rainbow Balloon, Paper Plate Pot of Gold, and this St. Patrick’s Day Crayon Holder.
I love, love, love the creativity of teachers and teacher aides. My daughter came home with this little number, and I just had to share it with you. It’s a garland made of Shamrock cut-outs and Clubs in a deck of cards.
Supplies Needed
- Rope, Yarn, or String – Roughly five ft. of rope or string – with a little piece of scotch tape wrapped around the ends for easy stringing
- (11) Shamrock cut – 6-inch clover-shaped cutouts with two holes punched in the top of each
- Playing Cards – A complete set of clubs from the Ace to the number 10 with two holes punched into the top of each

How to Make A St. Patrick’s Day Banner out of Playing Cards
Punch two holes into the tops of each clover cut-out and club card.

Wrap a piece of clear tape around your yarn, string, or rope
- Thread the rope first through the two holes of the Shamrock

- Then add the Ace

- Add another Shamrock
- The number 2 card next
- Shamrock
- Number 3 card
- Shamrock
- Number 4 card
- Shamrock
- Number 5
- Shamrock
- Number 6
- Shamrock
- Number 7
- Shamrock
- Number 8
- Shamrock
- Number 9
- Shamrock
- Number 10
- Shamrock
- Tie another knot

Materials
- 5 ft. rope, string, or yarn
- 10 clover cut-outs about 6 inches wide
- 1 deck of playing cards with clubs pulled out
Instructions
- Punch two holes into the top of each clover, and club card
- Wrap some tape around the end of your string
- Thread the rope through the two holes of the Shamrock first
- Then the Ace
- Add another Shamrock
- The number 2 card next
- Shamrock, Number 3 card
- Shamrock, Number 4 card, Shamrock, Number 5, Shamrock, Number 6, Shamrock, Number 7, Shamrock, Number 8, Shamrock, Number 9, Shamrock, Number 10
