This Valentine’s Rice Krispies Mice Treat is the cutest ever! With very few ingredients, like rice cereal, marshmallows, and heart candies they are so simple to make, too.
Rice Krispies Treats Mice – Valentine Dessert Treat
Holiday treats like this Valentine’s Day fun food are some of my favorite types of holiday recipes to make. Like this adorable ladybug chocolate-covered Oreo cookie, Penguin Valentine Oreos, and Nutella Chocolate Haystack Cookies
These Valentine’s Mice are so cute!
Make them as a fun after-school treat or a fun end to your Valentine’s Day Dinner.
Tips for Making Rice Krispies Treats:
- I like to use Mini Marshmallows instead of regular size. I feel like the heat is better distributed with the mini marshmallows and they melt quicker
- I only use fresh out-of-the-bag marshmallows. When I have used older marshmallows, my treats turn harder and faster and are not easy to work with
- When decorating your treats, work fast while the marshmallow in the treat is still warm. It will act as a glue
- If decorations are not sticking, use a little dab of cake frosting to help glue them to the treat

Rice Krispies Treats Mice {Valentine Dessert Treat}
Equipment
- 3 inch. heart cookie cutter
- wax paper
- 9×13 inch pan
- medium saucepan
Ingredients
- 6 cups Krispy rice cereal
- 4 cups mini marshmallows fresh
- 3 Tbsp. butter unsalted
- ½ tsp Optional – red or purple dye about 1/2 tsp. or until you get your desired color
- 24 Conversation hearts
- 14 oz. Pull N Peel licorice
- 24 Black Nonpareils
Instructions
- Melt the butter in the saucepan and add the marshmallows
- Stir until smooth
- If you want the mice colored, add the coloring now and stir in
- Pour the marshmallow mixture into cereal and mix well
- Place the wax paper into the 9 x 13 pan and pour the rice Krispy mixture into the pan
- Spread the mixture out evenly
- Let the mixture cool slightly and then lift the wax paper up out of the pan
- Use the cookie cutter to make hearts and place them on another sheet of wax paper for decorating
- Decorate with conversation hearts for the ears, nonpareils for the eyes, red hot for the nose and licorice for the tail
- If your marshmallow treats have cooled too much the nose might not stick. Just grab a little marshmallow from the saucepan and use that as glue
Notes
- I like to use mini marshmallows for this recipe
- *use fresh marshmallows from a new bag – I find that if the marshmallows are stale, the treats become stale very quick and are harder to work with
