The next time you are ready to bake and don’t have baking powder, use baking soda. It’s a great substitute when you run out.
Baking Powder Substitute
You can easily make your own baking powder with baking soda and cream of tartar—a simple substitute when you run out.
Last week, I found myself with some extremely old-looking baking powder. I would have to get a chisel out to the hard, crusted powder. So, instead of trusting that this expired baking powder would do its job, I researched a substitute.
That’s when I found out that you can use baking soda and cream of tartar in place of baking powder.
