Fun animal-shaped pancakes are a great way to start the weekend with the kids. They’ll giggle with delight over these Pig-Shaped Pancakes for breakfast.

These Pig Pancakes are one of those silly breakfast ideas that always made my kids laugh the second they sat down at the table. It doesn’t take much to turn ordinary pancakes into something memorable, and this little pig became one of our favorite ways to make breakfast feel extra special.

The best part is that these pig pancakes are easier than they look. With simple pancake shapes and a few easy toppings, kids can even help decorate their own pig faces. They’re perfect for birthdays, themed breakfasts, farm units, or mornings when you just want breakfast to feel a little more fun.

Breakfast is one of my favorite meals. When I have time, I love to cook a big breakfast with buttermilk pancakes, hashbrowns casserole, and Shortcut Cinnabon Waffles

Ingredients you’ll need for Pig Shaped Pancakes

  • 1 round pancake – regular sized
  • 2 small round pancakes
  • 2 chocolate chips
  • 2 blueberries

How To Make Pig Pancakes

Step 1

  • Start to assemble the pig by placing the large round pancake on the plate

Step 2

  • Cut one of the small pancakes in half, and use that as the two ears – placing them straight side facing down on each side of the head

Step 3

  • Leave the other small pancake intact for the snout. Place the snout in the center/bottom portion of the pancake

Step 4

  • Add 2 chocolate chips for the eyes – pushing the pointed ends into the pancake, and 2 blueberries to the snout

Melissa’s Tips and Tricks for your pig-shaped pancakes…

  • to make the pancake look like a pig and not a cow – face the straight side of the ears down
  • the eyes should be wider than the nostrils
  • use about 1 tsp. of butter per pancake, placing it on a warm skillet
  • using an iron skillet is preferred
  • when pancake bubbles and the bubbles pop open and stay open – it’s ready to flip

Make Pig Pancakes for Story Time

If your family loves reading together, these pig pancakes also make a fun breakfast to pair with If You Give a Pig a Pancake. Read the story first and then let kids decorate their own pig pancake faces with fruit, chocolate chips, or syrup. It turns breakfast into a simple themed activity without much extra work.
