I plan on serving these at a birthday party for 50 guests. I will need to make several of them. How far in advance can I assemble them? Should I bake them ahead and keep warm?
You can definitely make these ahead of time. Fully assemble them on the pans, cover with clear wrap and refrigerate until ready to bake. If you have a warming setting on your oven or you can set the temp to 200 degrees or below, I’d say you can definitely keep them warm that way. I would not leave them warming for more than 10 minutes. You don’t want the crescent to dry out.
I tried this tonight as a trial run to serve at a large party. I’m glad I did because my family weren’t particularly impressed. They thought it lacked flavor and was too bready. They said it needed more toppings, some sauce inside and more cheese. One said the cheese needed to be stronger. She suggested a thicker sliced pepperoni.
I will try these suggestions and see how it goes.
Thanks for the suggestions. The great thing about pizza is that it is always customizable to meet everyone’s specific pizza criteria. Hopefully the second run will get rave reviews! 🙂
So easy and good!
