  • Yellow Cheese Sticks, such as Sargento Cheddar—I like to use the Sargento brand because its shape is perfect for this food craft, and obviously, it is delicious!
  • Black 3-D fabric Paint
  • Googly eyes – various sizes – Use mini sizes to fit two eyes on a cheese stick.
  • Royal Blue Felt
  • Black cording
  • Fabri Tac Glue is suggested – Use a tacky glue that will dry quickly.

  • Scotch tape

How to Make Minion Cheese Sticks

Pull the sides of the plastic wrap behind the cheese stick covering the worded side and tape it down.

Pull the top and bottom seal to the back of the cheese stick and tape it down, as well.

If the plastic seal is making it hard to set the cheese stick down, see if you can trim it without breaking the seal.

Cut a piece of blue felt out—about a 3″x 3″—and glue it around the bottom end of the cheese stick, with the seam on the same side as the plastic seam.

Use the black paint to draw a circle, about the same size as the googly eyes, onto the top half of the cheese stick, where the Minion eye would go.

Press a googly eye onto the circle over the black paint circle, forcing the black paint to ooze out around the eye, creating a black border.

Using the paint, draw goggle straps on the sides and a mouth. Make some oval shaped and some smiles for different expressions

Glue small pieces of black cording for the Minion’s Hair

Place Minion Cheese Sticks into the fridge to store them. This also speeds up the drying time for the paint.

Can I make Minion Cheese Sticks in Advance?

Yes! As long as you haven’t broken the plastic seal, you can store these Minion cheese sticks in the fridge for as long as the cheese stick bag recommends eating by.
