How Do You Make Oatmeal Bars with Chocolate Chips?

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. Using a large bowl, mix the butter and sugar together 
  3. Add eggs and vanilla
  4. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt
  5. Mix dry and wet ingredients together
  6. Fold in the oatmeal and chocolate chips
  7. Press the batter into an ungreased baking pan 
  8. Bake for 30 minutes

How Do You Store Oatmeal Bars?

  • After the oatmeal bars have cooled, then cut them into 12 bars. Store into an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • ½ lb. softened (2 sticks of butter)
  • 1 cup brown sugar firmly packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1&1/2 cups flour all-purpose
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 3 cups Quaker Oats – Quick or Old Fashioned – uncooked
  • 1 cup mini milk chocolate chips such as Hershey’s

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • In a medium bowl, Beat the butter and sugars together until creamy
  • Add the eggs, and vanilla, mix together
  • In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and mix well
  • Fold in the Oatmeal, and Chocolate Chips
  • Press into an ungreased 9×13 baking pan
  • Bake for 30 minutes
  • Check doneness by inserting a toothipick into the middle. If it comes out clean they are probably ready.
