How do you melt Chocolate Melts?
Pour your chocolate melts into a glass microwave-proof bowl and microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir the chocolate until smooth. If needed, place chocolate into the microwave for another 30 seconds. Stir until smooth
Tips and Tricks on working with melted chocolate:
- have wax paper ready to place wet chocolate treats onto
- If chocolate is overheated and becomes too thick to work with, then use a tiny little bit of lard or coconut oil to loosen it up
- Chocolate that has been thinned out with lard will not set as hard as prior to thinning it out and may take longer to set
- if the chocolate starts to set in the bowl, then pop it back into the microwave for 30 seconds and stir until it smooth
- To speed up the chocolate setting process, you can place treats into the refrigerator or even the freezer
- Cover most chocolate treats and store them at room temperature for up to a week or more
Making Ahead and Storage:
These Christmas treats are best when eaten within the day of making them, but can last longer if stored properly.
