Can you pan-fry smoked sausage?

Yes, you can absolutely pan-fry smoked sausage. Slice sausage into 1/2-1 inch slices and cook in a skillet over medium heat until warmed through and browned on both sides

Do you need oil to fry smoked sausage?

If you are frying smoked sausage by itself, then you might want to add about 1 Tbsp. of oil into the skillet to get it started. Smoked sausage has its own liquid that will be released into the pan as it heats up

What Vegetables should I add to my smoked sausage stir fry?

Some great vegetables to add to a smoked sausage stir fry include, onions, broccoli, bell peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, summer squash, zucchini, and carrots

Making Ahead – You can make this a day in advance, but keep the rice and sausage separate

Storage: Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days

Reheating: Reheat sausage mixture in a skillet over medium heat or microwave until heated through

Ingredients :

  • Cooked Rice – I have used both brown rice and white rice. I usually just use the instant kind, so this meal is ready in a hurry. Brown rice is a bit healthier than white rice (it contains more nutrients and fewer sugars), but white rice in my opinion is the tastiest with this smoked sausage stir-fry recipe
  • Olive Oil – I usually use classic olive oil. Extra Virgin olive oil has a much stronger taste
  • Vegetables – sliced (some suggestions are sweet onion, Tomatoes – 2-3 medium – coarsely chopped
  • salt – this is to season the vegetables
  • Smoked Sausage – cut into 1/2-inch pieces

How do you make Stir Fry Smoked Sausage?

  • In a large skillet – heat the olive oil and add all of the vegetables – except the tomatoes
  • Cook for about 10 minutes over medium heat, or until vegetables are tender and onion is translucent

  • Add the tomatoes and cook until tomatoes are soft, and juices are running – about 4 minutes
  • Add the salt and stir in
  • Add the smoked sausage and continue to cook until the sausage is heated through and browned on the outer edges
  • Set plates up by scooping some brown rice onto the plate and topping them with Smoked Sausage Mix
  • Optional Extras: Soy Sauce and Chow Mein Noodles

  • 1 onion Vidalia, yellow, or white
  • 1 head broccoli florets
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 8 oz. mushrooms sliced fresh
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 12 oz. smoked sausage beef

Instructions

  • In a large skillet – heat the olive oil and add all of the vegetables – except the tomatoes
  • Cook for about 10 minutes over medium heat, or until vegetables are tender and onion is translucent
  • Add the tomatoes and cook until tomatoes are soft, and juices are running – about 4 minutes
