Indian Corn Craft
When holidays roll around, you’ll typically find me crafting with food in the kitchen or at my crafting table, making something like a Foam Pumpkin Turkey Centerpiece, Fall Handprint Tree Craft, and a Styrofoam Turkey Craft.
You all know that I love to keep things simple here on the blog. None of us have time for the complicated stuff; the simple things in life are the sweetest. This sweet and straightforward Easy and Sweet Handprint Indian Corn Craft for Kids to Make is one of my favorite crafts that I’ve done with the kids. Handprint crafts always make me smile.
Cute, right?!
Supplies Needed for Indian Corn Handprint Craft
- 1 (9×12) green foam sheet
- pen or pencil to trace with
- yellow cardstock, construction paper, or yellow foam sheet
- scissors
- multiple colors of tissue paper cut into small 1-inch squares
- Glue stick or school glue
- *optional – tacky glue like 3-in-1 Beacon Adhesive glue . This is the glue I used to adhere the handprints to the paper. It hardens quick so you don’t have to sit there holding the craft until it dries.
Instructions:
- Cut out a shape from the yellow paper that resembles a corn cob – Mine is 9 inches long, with the bottom about 4 inches wide and the top a little over 2 inches.
- Let the kids decorate their corn cob with colorful tissue paper squares
- Trace and cut out your child’s handprints
- Place handprints on the back of the corn with the pinky fingers on the outer edge and thumbs on the back
- fold the handprints so they curve around the corn
- glue to secure
- *you may have to hold the handprints for a few seconds while the glue tries to dry, or place something heavy onto them to hold them in place
