How Do You Freeze Pasta Dishes?

  1. Make sure to only cook pasta noodles to Al Dente – They should not be mushy when frozen
  2. Prepare unbaked casserole in a foil casserole pan
  3. Cover and freeze up to three months
  4. Partially thaw the frozen pasta, and overnight in the fridge
  5. Remove from the refrigerator for 30 minutes before heating
  6. Preheat the oven and bake as directed

  • 9×13 casserole dish
  • frying pan
  • mixing bowl
  • mixing spoon


  • 8 oz. wide egg noodles
  • 1 lb. Italian sausage – cooked and crumbled
  • 1 12 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese – divided
  • 2 14 oz. pizza sauce – I used Ragu 
  • Pizza toppings like – pepperoni slices, sliced olives, sliced mushrooms, chopped onions, chopped green peppers etc. (I used pepperoni and black olive slices) 


  • Cook noodles per package directions to Al Dente
  • Cook sausage in frying pan until cooked through – crumble
  • Drain off any fat
  • In a large bowl, mix noodles, sausage, sauce, 1/2 of the cheese and toppings
  • Grease casserole dish
  • Pour the casserole into dish
  • Sprinkle the rest of the cheese over the top
  • Bake about 40 minutes at 350 degrees
  • Tips for serving: Serve with bread and salad
