Frozen Lemonade Variations
- Strawberry Frozen Lemonade – Add 1-2 cups of frozen or fresh strawberries to the lemonade. If you use frozen strawberries, then cut back on the amount of ice. You can add more ice if it is not thick enough
- Strawberry Mint Frozen Lemonade – Use the recipe above for strawberry frozen lemonade and add a handful of fresh mint leaves or 2 tsp. of mint extract (not peppermint)
- Frozen Lemon-Lime Juice – Add 2 Tbsp. of lime juice to the lemonade and zest from fresh lime. Add more lime juice as needed for a more robust lime flavor
- Frozen Lemonade Float – Add 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream to each cup of frozen lemonade
Expert Tip
Roll your lemons on the counter to break up the pulp. This releases the juices for easy squeezing
What to Serve with Frozen Lemonade
More fair food – of course!
Tips and tricks for making frozen lemonade:
- make it easy by using premade lemonade and adding some natural flavors too
- if you like it really sour, then omit the sugar. Add sugar little by little to get it to the sweetness you prefer
- using lemon zest is the key to this recipe, but did you know that you can freeze lemon zest? While you are going to the trouble of zesting lemons, freeze some for later
- don’t forget to use hand juice when squeezing the lemons (I did not in the video below). It will catch the seeds for you for a seedless drink
