Mini Monkey Bread With Powdered Sugar

Ooooh…Yumm…Umm…..Mmm….The sounds you’ll make when eating these babies fresh out of the oven! Hence the name,” Monkey Bread”. Darn these irresistible little pieces of deliciousness! I seriously had to walk away from the warm, delicious morsels. There is just something about fresh, warm bread. Add a little cinnamon sugar, and a caramel topping…Will power!

I didn’t stop with just powdered sugar. I also used some blue and red colored sugar to add a fun summer flare! Why not?! There are so many calories already…let’s have some fun with it, keep going! (They’re MINI = MODERATION) That version is shown below. What a cute display and fun mini desserts for summer BBQs, & Patriotic Parties! Here’s the recipe:

You’ll Need:

This yields one dozen Mini Monkey Bread: (Well, 9 if you eat the first 3 out of the oven – like me!)

  •     1 Large can of Pillsbury Buttery Biscuit Dough
  •     2/3 cup of sugar
  •     2 t of cinnamon
  •     Mini bundt pan – sprayed with a non-stick spray oil (I used butter flavor)

For the topping:

  •     1 cup of brown sugar
  •     1/2 cup of butter
  •     2 t of cinnamon

Now, here we go!:

  •  Mini Monkey Bread With Powdered Sugar
  •    Open your biscuits, and cut each biscuit into 8 pieces

  •     Get yourself a big zip-lock bag and fill it with the sugar and cinnamon
  •     I personally would drop each piece, one at a time into the sugar, shake and then add the next, and so on…until they are all covered with sugar. I’ve seen people put all of the pieces in at once and shake. But, the dough will stick to itself and then you’ll have to pull pieces apart, and…you get the idea!
