How to Make Heart Jello Dessert
🔴 Make the Red Jello Hearts
- In a large saucepan, bring 2½ cups of water to a boil
- Add the red Jell-O and stir until completely dissolved
- Stir in 2½ cups of cold water
- Pour into a greased 9×9 or 10×10 pan

- Refrigerate for a few hours, until firm (like jello jigglers)
- Once set, run a knife around the edges and carefully invert onto a wax paper-lined surface
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out 6 hearts

- Place the hearts into a 9×13 pan, spacing them evenly
⚪ Make the White Jello Layer
- Pour cold water into a bowl with a spout
- Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over the water and let it sit for 1 minute to bloom

- In a saucepan, bring 1½ cups of water to a boil
- Pour the hot water over the gelatin and stir until dissolved
- Add sweetened condensed milk and mix well
- Let the mixture cool to room temperature
🥄 Assemble the Dessert
- Slowly pour the white jello mixture into the 9×13 pan
- (Tip: pour around the hearts, not directly on top so they stay in place)

- Fill just until the white layer reaches slightly below the tops of the hearts (you may have extra white jello left over)

- Refrigerate for a few more hours, until fully set
- Cut into squares and serve
Tips
For the cleanest cuts, wipe your knife between slices.
Mayonnaise makes the best natural grease for Jell-O. Just put a little dab on a paper towel and rub around the pan
