How do you make Rice Krispies Treats Pumpkins?
(recipe below)
- Melt butter and add marshmallows
- Mix until marshmallows are melted
- Add food coloring and mix
- Pour marshmallow mix over rice cereal and mix well
- Shape into 2-inch balls and place on wax paper
- Place Tootsie Roll stems into the 2-inch balls to resemble pumpkins

Equipment
- 1 saucepan
- 1 silicone mixing utensil
- 1 spray oil
- 1 butter knife
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp. butter unsalted
- 4 cups Miniature Marshmallows – like Kraft Mini Marshmallows or 1 10 oz. of regular sized marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
- 5 drops Orange food coloring – amount will vary. If you don't have orange, you can also mix red and yellow together
- 12 Tootsie rolls
Instructions
- Melt the butter over low heat
- Add the marshmallows and orange food coloring, and mix in
- Remove from heat and stir in the cereal. Keep stirring until the cereal is taking on the orange color of the marshmallows
- Shape the Rice Krispies Treats into little balls – about 2 inches in diameter
- You can use a butter knife to make a little crease in the top of your Tootsie Rolls
- Push the Tootsie Rolls into the center of the red balls
- Optional – squeeze green frosting lines onto your pumpkin to resemble a vine
