This is the coolest thing, you guys! I was researching Valentine Cake Mixes to give as gifts and came across the 3,2,1, Cake! I just had to try this idea.

  • This is the coolest thing! 2 ingredients! That's it! Control your diet with an individual cake! Or, give out as cute little gifts. Serve at your next party! Everyone will think it's the coolest! Tastes surprisingly good!2 Ingredients!
  • Grab your favorite box of cake flavor mix. I picked Red Velvet for Valentine’s Day
  • Add 1 box of Angel Food Cake
  • Mix the 2 cake mixes together

  • When you are ready – use a microwavable mug, or jar (this is a 4 oz. canning jar)
  • Add 3 Tblsp. of your Mixture
  • 2 Tblsp. water
  • Stir well
  • Microwave for 1 minute
  • That’s it!
  • If you use a jar, it will be very hot – use an oven mitt to transfer it to a safe surface
  • Serving Suggestions: Top with fudge, whipped cream and perhaps a strawberry! Delicious!

  • There are lots of tutorials out there for this idea. Here’s one I checked out from Mrs. Happy Homemaker

  1. How fun! Great last minute dessert idea! This caught my eye at the #ThursdayFavoriteThings Hop. Do you know how long this mix keeps? I assume you store it at room temp in a sealed container?

    • Thanks for clicking through! Isn’t it fun?! That’s a great question, and I’ll have to update the post to explain that. Thank you. Yes, you are correct in assuming you store the unused mix in an air tight sealed container – at room temp. The expiration of the dry 3,2,1 mix should mirror the packages (angel food cake mix, and the other cake mix you choose) expiration dates. The shelf life will vary. Most box mixes have at least a few months of shelf life before their expiration dates – that’s a long time to have the mix on hand. 🙂
