Tips for Making the Perfect Deviled Eggs

Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature so it can be easily mixed into the egg without any cream cheese chunks left in the mix

Use a metal whisk or a fork to cream the cream cheese and egg

Piping the deviled egg mixture makes all the difference. My mom always spooned it into the eggs, but it looks much more appetizing, having been piped.

Handy tip: Cut Thin Strips from Chives

I split my chives in halves to make thin strips. This way the laces don’t take over the egg and make a great accent to a delicious deviled egg.

Variations

Bacon: Add crumbled bacon to the egg mixture for a meaty treat, or cover the eggs in crumbled bacon for a brown football appearance

Dill: Add some fresh dill or pickled relish to the egg mixture for a dill flavor

Cheese: Add some shredded cheese to the filling

FAQs about Deviled Eggs

Place boiled eggs into a covered ice bath. Shake the container so the eggs clank together causing fractures in the shell and allowing ice water to seep in. Let the eggs sit for about five minutes so they contract and then peel them.
