When I think of Father’s Day, I think of gifts from the kids, like neckties, golf clubs, and grilling equipment. But every dad needs a fun homemade apron from the kids to grill with on Father’s Day and all summer long. I love it when the kids can make their own homemade gifts like making beeswax rolled candles, a keepsake photo keychain, or a sentimental handprint apple craft for dad.

With this DIY apron for Dad, I used a poem to embellish it years ago (back when I only had two kids) with fabric paint and iron-on photos.

What You’ll Love about this Father’s Day Apron Gift Idea

  • It’s a keepsake – This apron is decades old, and although the photos have faded a little, it is still in pretty good shape
  • Homemade – Homemade DIY Gifts are the best kind of gifts. Dad’s usually don’t want any money spent on them, so this inexpensive Father’s Day gift is perfect.

Father’s Day Poem

May your burgers be grilled to perfection, May everyone laugh at your jokes, May you find a good deal on some duct tape, May you beat your best score by three strokes, May you catch a few Z’s if you’re sleepy, May nobody get on your nerves, In short…may your day be as perfect as the World’s Greatest Daddy deserves!
